Phlebotomy Didactic-Only Course (On-Site)
40-1040 hours of prior on-the-job phlebotomy experience
This course is designed for students with at 40 – 1040 hours of on-the-job phlebotomy experience* and are seeking to obtain a CPT I license. It includes the 20 hours of Basic Phlebotomy Didactic and 20 hours of Advanced Phlebotomy Didactic required by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and is offered during the week and on weekends.
Students will also need to pass the National Exam for Phlebotomy Technicians in order to be eligible to apply for a CPTI license. Students who have not yet taken the National Exam exam can sign up via PhlebotomyU.
Course Requirements:
- Signed Letter of Experience
- Proof of High School Education (High School or accredited college transcript or proof of passing the GED, HiSET or CHSPE exam)
Basic & Advanced Cost: $1250 (includes registration)
*Per the CDPH, work experience in California as an unlicensed laboratory staff person will not be accepted as qualification toward any clinical laboratory license. Also, biotech/pharmaceutical, forensic, academic, veterinary, research, and student laboratory experience cannot count as work experience or training for any clinical license.
