According to EduMed, “many schools and career centers provide online phlebotomy programs, but that’s not to say they all guarantee equal student outcomes. Moreover, it’s important to consider questions around accreditation, graduation rates, and percentage of students who find work.”
So, what makes an online phlebotomy training program credible? Read this article to learn more about accredited phlebotomy schools and PhlebotomyU’s online training course.
What is an Approved Phlebotomy School
Approved phlebotomy schools are reviewed and accredited by the state’s health department. Firstly, in California, they must be approved by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE). Secondly, the CDPH is responsible for protecting and improving the health of Californians. Thirdly, this department sets mandates for academic institutions to abide by the state’s regulations and health and safety requirements. Finally, the BPPE creates ethical guidelines for postsecondary institutions to protect the students.
Why Choose an Approved Online Phlebotomy Training Program
Not all phlebotomy training programs are the same. Furthermore, if you choose to go to an unapproved online phlebotomy training program, you may receive improper and unsafe training. Moroever, without the proper education, you may not have taken or passed the mandatory national and state phlebotomist certification exams. In addition, you will not be eligible or selected for phlebotomy positions because employers want workers who have received a thorough and correct education.
By attending an approved program, you will be trained correctly and safely by following CDPH and BPPE guidelines and given academic support. Furthermore, with this skill set and guidance, students are more prepared to enter the workforce.
